COVID-19 Coronavirus Update March
18 March 2020
Dear EMEX Exhibitors,
In light of the rapidly developing COVID-19 situation, it is with great disappointment, we must announce that The EMEX Exhibition will not take place as scheduled on May 5-7 2020, at the ASB Showgrounds, Auckland.
We have been closely monitoring the advice and counsel of the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO), international organisers and professional events associations.
On Monday 16th March at 4 pm, the Prime Minister updated the Government’s position specifically advising that mass gatherings of over 500 people should cancel, which applies to this event.
The health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, and staff is, and will always be, our top priority. We are entirely supportive of the Government’s position, regardless of the importance of events to the wider economy.
We are absolutely committed to delivering EMEX this year to support the 40th Anniversary of this fantastic show and have rescheduled the event to October 12-14 2020

In light of the rapidly evolving situation regarding COVID-19 we are acutely aware that exhibitors, visitors and stakeholders are looking to us regarding the impact on our upcoming events schedule.
The government announced on Saturday 14 March that a statement in relation to ‘Mass Gatherings and Public Events' is forthcoming. We expect this to take place within the next 48 hours.
We will provide an updated statement shortly following that announcement from the Prime Minister.
In the meantime we ask for your understanding and patience. We are taking advice and working closely with central and local government, regulatory bodies, industry associations, venues and other national and international event organisers. We are actively pursuing solutions and will be reaching out to you all with our formal event position statement shortly.
