How 3D-Printing will Disrupt the Automotive Industry - Introducing 'The Drop'
New Zealand will soon be home to its first 3D printed electric vehicle, The Drop. The Drop is an innovative vehicle kit concept made from recycled plastics that will be motorway legal with a range in excess of 321 km. This environmentally-conscious electric vehicle is also socially conscious as the vehicle’s developers, Ierospace Industries International, strive to foster innovation and the adoption of technology in New Zealand having included engineering students from Massey University, Manukau Institute of Technology, and other educational institutions, in the development process.
Ira Munn, CEO of Ierospace, will introduce The Drop, and discuss how additive manufacturing is disrupting the engineering industry.
